Hello and welcome, I’m Kath.

My yoga journey began in January 1999 in a class at Tamarama surf club, Sydney.

During that initial lesson I experienced a brief moment of peace in my heart, my body felt relaxed and I was completely curious for more.

For the next 9 years I was a keen student, exploring different teachers and styles around the world while I travelled.

I started to notice the transformative power of the practice, first physically then mentally, noticing I was clearer and emotionally more grounded.

In 2007, after taking many Sivananda style classes in southern India, I was ready to take my yoga more seriously.

In 2008, I studied my first yoga teacher training (YTT) with Yoga Arts, under the wise tutelage of Louisa Sears, Emil Wendel and Lucy Roberts.

For the next 7 years I taught at my favourite yoga school, Dharmashala in North Bondi, guiding beginners and intermediate hatha vinyasa style classes, along with pre-natal yoga, kids yoga and yin yoga.

Teaching corporates in their CBD office space and in the privacy of home for 1:1 clients was another way to share the practice of yoga.

I continue my Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) studies regularly, see below.

My classes are an inclusive space where all ages, races, gender identities, sexualities, bodies and fitness levels are welcome.

Students are safely guided through a practice that includes carefully sequenced asana, mindful breath work and cultivation of inner stillness in meditation, linking body, breath and mind.
Classes are taught in flow with the seasons, honouring the rhythms of nature.

We explore the limbs of Patanjalis eight fold path including the ethical principles of the Yamas and the personal observances of the Niyamas though to refining the meditation practice.

Since 2016 it has been my privilege to live and work on Dharawal country, in the friendly community of Austinmer.

My local weekly classes are listed on the timetable page on this site and all updates are posted to social media .

You are most welcome to simply drop in, no bookings required.

I’d love to meet you and share the benefits of this practice.
